What if My PR application is refused?
Hi
I applied for PR as a skilled worker from Buffalo in January
2002.Today i called Buffalo and talked to Immigration section and they
told me that they have mailed letter of asessment to me on May 21,
2003 and refused to discuss the decision over the phone( make sense)
But when i applied for PR i dont have enough points to qualify under
new system. But things have changed since i applied
1) I graduted from U of T with MEng in January 2003. i mailed letter
and transcript to buffalo in first week of Feb 2003.
2) I got work permit under Post graduate studies for 12 months on
April 22, 2003 and mailed the copy of work permit and job letter on
April 23, 2003.
My question is if they refuse my application based on old information
Can i request to review my application again as based on the points i
mentioned above i score more than 75.
What are chances that the decision will be changed?
How long i have to wait to apply for new PR application if i decided
to submit.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Raju

If additional information/documents reached processing officer before
assessment then such were already considered. If on the basis of the entire
application package (original plus recent submission) you won't be awarded
enough points then there is nothing you can do. But why not wait a little
before getting so frustrated - you've been told that letter of assessment is
on it's way. Wait, maybe it is a good news...

Hi Raju,
I also applied to Buffalo in January 2002. My e-client has just
started showing In-Process last week. When was the first time your e-client
show In-process? Do you think I should phone them too as you did? You
should have recieved the assessment letter by now. Please keep us posted
about your result and timeline. Thank you.

Re: What if My PR application is refused?
Hi Raju,
It seems you are on work permit after graduating from Uof Toronto. Could you please tell me how did you apply for work permit? I am likely to graduate in MASc (Mining Engineering) from Laurentian University in another 6 months. Pl let me know what should I do to get work permit.
And you said that you have talked to immigration people at Buffalo regarding your PR. I am also waiting for my initial assessment. Here my question is: will it be possible to talk directly with the immigration authorities and find the status of my application? My eclient has started working since two weeks or so.
Pl let us know about the decision they made on your case, in case you have already received that letter from RPC .
Wishing you good luck!

Hi John Jo,
I have applied (file transfer from India) to RPC Buffalo in Feb 2002. My eclient started working since May 9, 2003. It only shows "in process"
I am awaiting the initial assessment letter from Buffalo..
Pl let me know if you have got any letter from them about your case.

After graduation work permit
You asked about the after graduation work permit...
First you have to get a letter from your school saying you have completed all the requirements. Then In that 3 months(after your graduation) you have to have a job offer from the employer, describing your position, your contract period (with the end date on it, which cannot be more than 1 year) and salary information..
If the job offer is related to what you have studied, then you won't have any problem at all.. Then you apply to Alberta Vigreville, and then they send you your work permit... with a Company name on it where you are allowed to work.. If you want to change your job after, you have to reapply...... I hope this will help

Re: What if My PR application is refused?
Hi Guys
I am still waiting for my assessment letter and i hope i will get it some
time this week. BTW they mailed it on May 21.Till today i did not receive it
yet.
But today my eclient is saying that "Decision Made". Does it means that it
is either "Interview Waiver" or "Refusal".
Any feedback will be appreciatd who already received their assessment letter
and what is their eclient saying regarding their status.
I got my work permit on same day from CIC office in toronto(55 St Clair ).
Regards
Raju
