We went for our medicals last week and was wondering on average how long we'd have to wait before hearing if our passports are required?? Also has anyone been declined PR visas after a medical?

Hi Claire and welcome to the forum.

People are refused PR because of failing their medical, but it doesn't happen often so I'm sure you'll be fine.

As for timings, if you do a search of the forums you should find lots of examples.

Hi Clarey73,

We went for our Meds Friday just gone, in Altrincham too!

We have done some searching, and come to the conclusion that if everything is ok with the Meds then it can be as little as four weeks for them to request your passport...but, timelines do tend to differ on a big scale sometimes, so who knows? Im wondering too though, Its hard not too.

Let me know if you hear anything as we are more or less at exactly the same point now.

They sent our passport requests 10 days after our meds went in I think we were extra fast though as they had previously stuffed up my study permit application!

90 Day Letter Nov 08
Papers sent Dec 08
Med request 13th Jan 09
Meds done 2nd Feb 09
Meds received at CHC Friday 13th Feb
PPR Friday 13th March 09.
Cant remember when we got passports back think it was 2-3 weeks.
June 5th Landed and now a PR

But back in the UK for the moment.

We had our medicals done in Burnaby, BC on May 28th, London received the medical results on June 8th and we got passport requests via email on June 25th so just a little over two weeks.
