Default What to expect from passport request

Hi All,
Our medicals will expire in 3 months.
If We'll be lucky enough to receive passport request within
next month or so we'll have to reply immediately just to be
able to get our visas and land on time.
My question is what additional paperwork may be required when
passport requests have been received? Does CIC ask for additional
photos, renewed bank statments etc? We'd like to have all those
ready to turn the docs asap.

Thanks for you advise!

they asked me for photos... there were special requirement for the photos make sure it is followed , to avoid delays...
i think all processing is done by the visa officer when they request your passport... so there is no need for fresh doucments... this is my opinion i might be wrong...

Hi Samantha,

Thanks for the answer!

    >there were special requirement for the photos
Can you recall what were the requirements for photo?
Were they the same as for IMM008 application?

Thx.

Slightly different dimensions.
Follow the instructions and specification in the passport request letter.

All,

Can someone advise what these dimensions are?
My wife currently works in Europe while I'm in US.
We'd like to do photos in advance just not loose time
on making and mailing photos after we receive a request.

I know this may sound goofy but here is the situation:
CAIPS report says : PIL BF'd to XYZ on 03-12-2003. If our background
check is done by that time we may receive a passport request in
the beginning of April if we are lucky. Our medicals expire on
May 14, 2003
In this situation every week counts so we'd rather have
everything done now.

Thx!

when i took mine out here... the photograher knew just from looking at the dimensions that it was for canadian immigration purposes....
it only took a few hours to rec. back my pictures u know... i sent my passport the next day after rec. the request...

Hi, Noun,
I am just wondering how you deduce you may get the passport request in
April?
My caips shows my BF'd on 01-12-2003, and BDEC 1, SEC.DEC 1, which
means I have passed the background/secure check, am I right? But I am
still waiting. May I ask you what your caips shows in the columes of
BDEC,SEC.DEC, and CRIM. May I share your timeline? You may also email
me at [email protected]. Thax.

the photograph specs are 2" x 2" with face and shoulders centered and
facing straight forward. pure white background, of course.

Firefire

BDEC is still 0, CRIM is blank, not sure if I have SEC.DEC, but SEC
status
has 3 for me and 1 for dependants. This is only my hope that they'll
complete my app by 03-12-2004, as it appeared to me that it was in the
last
stage. The commentary from caips.ca was around the same lines ( I
didn't ask/pay for interpretation but they were kind enough to provide
me with a brief summary )

My timeline is:
Applied - Nov 19, 2001
Initial assesment - Dec 05, 2002 ( No interview)
Medicals - May 14, 2003.

I may be wrong in my assumptions but given that your docs were BF'd
for
Jan 12 it is possible that you passport request is in the mail
alreday.

If you do receive your decision within next few days - pls reply to
this
thread. Would be curious to know.

Good luck.

Oooops! sorry Firefire,

Didn't read your posting carefully enough:
I thought yours were BF'd for Jan 12, 2004.
It is Dec 01, 2003! Well, my math doesn't work then

Thanks, Noun,
Yeah, my BF'd is Dec 01, 2003, that was the date before a few days of which I got DM at online status, then I got the letter requested new forms. What made me confused is my background check and security check have need finished (and for all dependents), why they still wanted the new forms ( i believe i submitted all detailed info clearly)?

Another question: does your caips show the police certificates of you AND your dependent received?

Yes. It says "FBI CERT x 2 - Clean" for me and my wife.
I've sent them twice: initially and after initial
assesment.
