Can some one give us an idea of were to go and what to do now. My finacee who is
american is living in canada with me right now since Feb , she crossed into canada as
a vistor and got her passport stamped on FEB 9th 2002 her 183 days expires on Aug 11
2002 . We are planning on getting married soon . But were not sure we can arrange the
wedding and come up with the fees to apply for in spouse application before the 11th
of August. We were told that we could apply for an extension of her vistor status
,Letting CIC know our plans and that she is in canada and were she is and there is no
Guarntie that they would let her stay. Or she could Jusat simply return to the USA
for 48 hrs croos in to canada again as a vistor and regain another 183 days . Or can
we Apply for an in-land finacee permit and just go from there . Again the fees are to
high and we are haveing trouble comeing up with the money for such , is there any way
i can have the fees reduced or waveied since i am a canadain and this is my counrty
.. It;sike paying a bribe tothe GOVT of canada allowing for me to marry a person whom
must meet there requirments and if they have any objections i'm at there control. We
are worried that they will ask her to leave and that the RCMP will be knocking on our
door once they know were she is and escort her back to the uS border red flag her
from ever returning..

You might want to check out the immigration website. I think I remember something
about being able to finance the cost of immigration. I did not use that option, so
I'm not really clear on what the policy states, it might be an option.
