Hi folks, I have applied for h1 transfer but haven't gotten the approval yet. I do
have the current pay stub and receipt no. for the new employer. I need to go to
Canada for three day business trip.
1. Should I go to Canadian conuslate in NYC to get vistitor visa ?
2. Should there be any problem as I don't have the approval notice from INS for the
new employer yet?

Please reply asap as I need to go in mid August 2002.

Let me answer my own question: I went to NY Canadian consulate and asked for multiple
entry visa, the officer asked me if I had approval for the latest employer, I told
her that I have the receipt notice but not the approval for my current employer. I
had the company letter, pay stubs and the original I797s so she gave me single entry
visa instead of a multiple one. And she also told me that when I get the approval I
can just mail in the application alongwith the passport and it shoud be ok.
