Visitor Visa
Hi,
I'm a US citizen with a boyfriend in the Yukon Territory. In my
research the best way for me to get to Canada would be as a visitor as
in the self-assesment test I didn't score enough points to apply as a
skilled worker. My questions, how long is a visitor visa good for,(I
know it can be extended but is there an initial time frame?) how long
do we have to live together in order to be considered conjugal
partners, and since I would be leaving my job in the states and giving
up my apartment, how would that affect things as I know you have to
prove that you will return to the states. Would I be able to bring all
household goods with or would I have to store it and get it later? I
have two children that live in the states. Also, with me being a US
citizen, does that make any difference? I'm thinking to visit long
enough in order for us to qualify as conjugal partners (or we get
married) and then apply for permanent citizenship. Any help would be
appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Re: Visitor Visa
You can visit for up to six months and there is no visa required for a US
Citizen.
Better to marry as soon as you can than to try the conjugal route.

Don't say boyfriend, fiance, or marriage at the border. They are likely to
turn you away if you do.
If you have a foreign divorce that is a little more complicated in some
provinces.
Look online for local laws governing marriage to a foreigner in his area.
