Default Visa difficulty for Canada

Hi guys,

I'm a UK citizen and there is a good chance I'll be accepted onto a course there, however I was wondering how easy it is to obtain a student visa to Canada?

This will be the first time I'll be going there.

Any information or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

If your ducks are properly lined up it will be relatively easy to get study permit.

Keep in mind that there is currently a strike going on so applications might be delayed, perhaps significantly.

You might not even need a study permit
Foreign nationals may enter Canada or remain in Canada without a study permit to attend a course or program of studies of six months’ duration or less [R188(1)(c)]. This six-month criterion helps to facilitate easy access to short-term courses, regardless of their subject matter. The course or program of study should be completed within the period (normally six months) authorized upon entry.

More details required.

The course duration is 34 weeks - so just over 6 months, that's a shame..

I came on a Study Permit. It is easy, Canada has lots of Student Summer jobs for the summer months which can lead to full time jobs and there after possible Residency Sponsorship for PNP. And you also get to claim back the majority of tuition in taxes. Really good system and would highly recomend it.
