Default Vegervill vs Buffalo

Hey All,

Looking for some advice. I am in Toronto on a TWP and will be changing employers at the end of this week.

As my job role is in IT I have an LMO exemption for my TWP. I need to get a new visa for my new job due to the restriction of employer on my current permit.

Having looked at the CIC website it looks like this can be done and usually is via mailing or applying electronically to Vegerville however I have heard it can also be done as an in person application at Buffalo Canadian consulate.

Can anyone verify is this true? My new employer would like me to start asap so if possible I would like to go down Monday and get it sorted.

Thanks for all the help.

Yes you can just go to the consulate in Buffalo.
Click da linky

We have done it twice, very easy, just make sure that you take everything that you need.

Thanks Clematis!

Where you renewing your TWP or changing employer when you went down there? My only concern was because it is a change of employer but in the end I think Buffalo does everything Vegervill does but just on the day as apposed to by post.

We were just renewing WP, we have done this twice at Buffalo, I really am not sure how the change of employer would affect you.
You would think that if you are LMO exempt, have the job offer letter etc that all would be ok.....

We applied originally at POE, and yes it is all done in the one day.
