US Green Card for Canadian Citizens

Hello!
I'm a Canadian citizen and my fiancee lives and works in US on an H-1B visa. She is
expecting her Green Card in 6-10 months. I'm an IT professional and it will be easier
for me to find a job down south, I am planning to move there. If she comes to Canada,
she will lose her GC and may not find a suitable job here besides she'll not be too
happy to move from Florida to Canada. I looked at a couple of sites and gathered that
the best route for me to get a GC will be:
1. Get a job in US and move there on a TN visa.
2. Ask the US employer to give me an H-1B visa or find another employer sponsoring
me for H-1B
3. Marry (My fiancee will have a GC by then)
4. Apply for GC based on my employment OR Ask my then wife to sponsor me for a
family-based GC (is this any faster? I doubt)
I believe it takes about 4-5 years to get a GC. Is there any preference for
Canadians? This seems a tedious route and I'm not sure what I want to do. I have a
decent job here and I'm happy. Although it's also true that I'll get better
opportunities in US. And so the dilemma. Please advise.
Thanks

If you wish to be in the US - marrying your fiancée is not the fastest way to get
here for you. Since she is only a permanent resident (Green Card) it could be a 5
year wait for you to move to the US. Better (and faster) to find an employer to
sponsor you. And Canadians are treated like all other immigrants. Take Care. Shelley
