Default Urgent question about citizenship application

Hello,

Me and my parents received our notification to take the test on Oct 30th in
Surrey. I have to take the test but since my parents are over 60, they are
exempt. I know I will be able to make it but my parents are stuck back east
watching over a sick friend who is ready to pass away any day now. My
question is, since we all have the same file # but different application
id's, would I be able to extend my parents application to a later date
without it affecting my application? Will I still be able to go and take the
test and proceed onto citizenship oath while my parents can extended the
process to a later date? I really need to get the process done as I am going
to get fired from my job if I do not make any business trips to the US and I
have been unable to do so due to the visa requirement for PR's. Please let
me know. Thank you in advance for your help.
