Unauthorized practice of law
N O T I C E
TAKE NOTICE that by resolution of the Complaints Investigation
Committee of The Law Society of Manitoba, effective the 8th day of
July, 1999, INGRID YIN-YU CHEN was suspended from the practice of law
pursuant to Section 50(1) of The Law Society Act pending an inquiry
into her conduct.

According to another posting she's now an entrepreneur ... so she could
be potentially running a little close to the limb considering she's
trading on that BA LLB which is kind of misrepresenting herself as a
lawyer if she is suspended. If she'd posted as Ingrid Chen -
Immigration Consultant, that would be a little different.

This is true. From my limited knowledge, she was not.

Do a "name search" on "chen ingrid".
There appear to be charges related to drug trafficking.
Based on this, she seems to have been disbarred.
Can anyone confirm this?
Would Ingrid Chen please clarify this?
Sureties in the amount of $50,000.00 seem to have
been involved. So it must have been serious.

Do a "name search" on "chen ingrid".
There appear to be charges related to drug trafficking.
Based on this, she seems to have been disbarred.
Can anyone confirm this?
Would Ingrid Chen please clarify this?
Sureties in the amount of $50,000.00 seem to have
been involved. So it must have been serious.

Why does everybody in this forum seem to be after the throat of
Ingrid? I have even seen one of the highly respected contributors here
take on her. Sure she posts very infrequently and whenever she does,
its not very close to a well-informed comment, but then, why target
