Default TWP and family questions :)

Hi all

I am completing the checker for the "Document checklist for TWP and family going to Canada."

I am outside Canada, have been accepted onto the SUV program, and will have the necessary letter from the designation organisation. My wfie on the program should also receive an open work permit.

I have a couple of questions regarding the checklist and the documents I need to upload?

I have 3 children, 7, 5 and 2. I selected they would study in Canada as technically they would go to school there as we will be PR via the SUV program in 2 years. I did however state they were unmarried as per the rather strange question for a minor.

Anyhow, it is asking for documents from the educational establishment that they will go to - I assume I have selected the wrong option as "They will study for longer than 6 months" - any ideas what I should have selected from the list or any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

It's me, via SUV, my wife should get an open work permit, and the 3 nippers, plus the family mut.

So I am slightly lost as you can understand

Thanks

You don't need study permits for the children.. they can attend school on the back of your TWP... and then as PR's - you would ask for a Visitor Record for each of them on entry to Canada... it will give them 'status' - then you just need to show that together with a copy of your TWP to the school registration centre. https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Schoo...Expat_Children

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...-children.htmlMinor children already in Canada are authorized to study without a study permit at the pre-school, primary or secondary level if
  • they are either accompanying parents claiming refugee status or are claimants themselves;
  • one of their parents (biological or adoptive) is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
  • one of their parents (biological or adoptive) is authorized to work or study in Canada; this includes temporary residents who are
    • work permit holders,
.
Your wife would normally apply for the SOWP at the Port of Entry (Covid permitting) or online/on paper once in Canada - as she can't be issued it until your TWP has been issued - she will be able to have a SOWP on the back of yours.

You'll need more before you can apply for a work permit. I assume you know this, but just in case! https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/start-visa/work-permits.html

Hi

Thanks and yes, I have been through reading that a few times now

I have received authorisation from IRCC "You are hereby authorized to use the IMM5802 form attached to this email for submission of the offer of employment." but reading the form which is described on https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...its.html#4.1.4 I am unsure as to some points for filling out, for example the academic requirement, as I am coming in on this route, I would have though it is rather moot.

Anyhow, my question, is IRCC at [email protected]. happy to answer questions, or, should I bite the bullet and get a lawyer for this, I cannot afford to mess this up. The processing time went from 12 to 18 weeks for processing down to 4 (if I read the site properly and enter the correct dropdowns.)

I have already been in contact with the school for my kids, so that is solved, our realtor is already on the case for somewhere to live. Our lawyer is already sorting the company ( a requirement for the SUV ) and accountant in place, so for the SUV and family side, most if not all should be sorted. Its just don to the forms...

Once in Canada, we can then push the button on the PR which the SUB program provides (obviously no guarantees).

Thus if an immigration lawyer is the best option, any suggestions for one in NS ?
