Default Travel without PR Card with just Citizenship Cert

Anyone travelled back to Canada without their PR card & used their Citizenship Certificate to get back in - as not got the Canadian Passport yet ? I Have a valid UK passport

We had to hand in our PR card when we got citizenship certificate.

Yes, I have. But you don't still have a PR card, do you?

I used the old laminated certificate to get back into Canada on a UK passport a few times without any problems, but that was a few years ago now.

Shouldnt be a problem anyway as a UK passport holder does not require a visa, you are not a PR, so not expected to show the PR card anymore, and if Canadian immigration have any problems its fairly easy for them to check you are a citizen.

Excellent thanks Iain - passport application is in process just wondered if I had to go back before I was in receipt

Can still be done. The laminated citizenship cert is still valid. Actually I much prefer it to the new, larger paper version.

I don't have a laminate citizenship card only an A4 sized certificate - I thought I'd be ok with my UK passport but thought I had better check thanks
