TOTAL fees for "PR" status
I just want to clarify what the extent of the fees will be while obtaining Permanent Resident status in Canada via Family Member / Spousal sponsership.
*-*Is it $975CAD for "Right of landing"? Are citizens of the USA required to pay this fee (As the border is so close)?
*-*Is it $500CAD for the acual spousal application fee?
*-*And does the extention of a visitor VISA (For a USA citizen) cost $75 or $150? What is the longest extention one could obtain? If a PR application has already been submitted. Does this guarentee an extention of the visitor VISA?
Thank you

With the introduction of Canada's new immigration act in June 02 the
fees have changed. The sponsor will have to pay a sponsorship fee of
$75, the sponsored spouse will pay processing fee of $475 and $150 for
any accompanying childre under 22 and $550 for any dependent children
over 22 and the ROLF is now the RPRF Right of Permanent Resident Fee
$975.
Extension of termporary resident status is $75 for all applicants and
normally they will extend for 6 months to one year to accomodate a
family class application in Canada. There are no guarantees in
Immigration however if you have submitted an application they will in
almost every case grant an extension if they make the decision to
process the application from within Canada. The immigration officials
in Vegreville still have to make a decision about the bona fides of
the case and if deemed genuine they will agree to process in Canada
and this will mean a favourable decision on any extension of temporary
resident status request.
