Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London
re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
Updated! I've just put Buckinghamshire as your location... if you want to provide a more accurate one then let me know and I'll put it in, else i'll just leave it.
Yes, you do need one. Your husband won't be a PR when he flies and first lands in Canada, so he'll need the eTA. After this trip though he'll be a PR and won't need it.
Hello! I would have a further question, I don't know if anyone would have an answer for it
So, my husband got his COPR yesterday, and we are leaving for a trip abeoad on February 15th, coming back on March 16th, at which date we will "activate" his PR. As of this date, British citizens will need an eTA to travel to Canada. Do you reckon my husband should apply for one?
Thanks !!!

Apologize for the Delay, been so busy with excitement and work life.

Happy New Year!!
Finally back in the UK, we got our COPR dated January 5th. Need to get the house on the market now, my partner will be landing before March 25th (when his medical expires). I AM SO EXCITED (apologise for yelling haha)

Hi, we are filling application and for now we are putting Edmonton down as city we want to go to but what if that changes? Can we move anywhere or we are tied to Edmonton?
Do I have to stay in city that I will land/picked in application for minimum period of time or can move anywhere?
If we are married only for 6 months and together for 3 years (living together for more than 2,5 year though) will I get still only conditional PR?

If entering as a PR under Spousal Sponsorship you can live anywhere in Canada once landed.

CIC has introduced amendments to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (the Regulations) which specify that spouses, common-law or conjugal partners who are in a relationship with their sponsor for two years or less and have no children in common with their sponsor at the time of the sponsorship application are subject to a period of conditional permanent residence. IMHO this won't apply to you.

Not sure what I would do without this forum, probably would fill it all wrong
Cannot decide between Edmonton/Calgary/Vancouver so glad I am not tied to location I will put in, I suppose we will decide while on our honeymoon in July! Super excited!

"Condition applies if the couple does not have any children in common and
has been married for two years or less;
dated for four years, but has been married for two years or less;
has been in a conjugal relationship for two years or less;
has cohabited in a common-law Footnote 1 relationship for two years or less; or
has been in a common-law or conjugal relationship for more than two years and has been married for less than two years, and the person submitted an application as a spouse."
So bizarrely, if the OP had applied prior to marriage as a common-law spouse, it wouldn't have applied, but now they've got married it does. Go figure!

Nothing surprises me when it comes to things like this.

Does not make sense to me as we cohabited for over 2 years :/
Doesn't matter really as we will live together there too only thing I am worried about is that we cannot go on any trips separate and if we would have to then I would worry too much my PR would be taken back or wow thing

While the Regulations require a “continuous” period of two years of cohabitation, from time to time, one or the other partner may leave the home for work or business travel or family obligations. CIC officers should follow existing guidelines when assessing a period of cohabitation where temporary or short separations have occurred. See OP 2, Section 5.35 for more information.
Unless thinking of going on a 6 month trip separately I would worry too much about this.
