T Andrew Miller: Canadian permanent reisdence cannot get the response back
Hi all,
I am trying to get the status of my permanent residency application. I applied in
Buffalo in November 2001 and my receipt date is 15th Nov 2001. I mailed my
application in Sept of 2001 and got my receipt in Nov. Does anyone have any idea when
should I expect the response. I have a friend of mine who had applied about a month
before I did and he received the response about May 2002. I tried using the online
services to view my application but could not.
I have tried sending faxes a couple of times inquiring about the response, but
to no avail.
What are the possible steps I can take which will help me get some information.
thanks in advance sanjay

You will most likely not get any reply to your status requests. You have to be
patient as it takes anywhere between 30 to 40+ weeks now in Buffalo from AOR letter
to initial assessment letter.
