still waitin...
i filed for immigration for canada from chc, new delhi in august 2001.
i wrote the ielts in december 2002 and sent in the results in january
2003. i've not heard anything from the chc since i filled up the new
IRPA forms in january 2003. since its taking so long i've come up with
an alternate plan of going to canada (work visa). now my question is
that should i withdraw my case and get a refund or should i let things
happen at their pace? how much time do you think it will take for the
decision to be made on my case? is it possible that my file has been
misplaced coz i''ve heard of some 2001 applicants whose cases have
come through. if it takes long then i think withdrawing the case will
be a better option. however, if things come through soon, i will be
able to enjoy a better lifestyle in canada. please advise.
thank you!

My advise to you, please be patient. I am a 2001 applicant myself and
recently received passport request. Yours should not be long, provided
you have submitted medicals and got an interview waiver or have
attended one already.

Re: still waitin...
thanks cs but you see THATS the problemo. i havent heard from the chc
ever since i sent in the new irpa forms and the ielts score (overall 8
band)...which was an year back! everytime in inquire about my case,
i'm sent this long list of processing times (which is obviously NOT
being followed these days coz of backlog or whatever!) and frankly,
its quite disheartening. but i'll take your advice and wait a little
longer. thanks a lot for sharing your info with me. thanks again!

Re: still waitin...
Sorry for the late reply.
My time is as follows:
Sep 2001 applied Buffalo under skilled worker category. I am an Indian
citizen
Nov 2001 AOR
Sep 2002 Additional information
Feb 2003 letter stating interview required with medical forms
April 2003 Medicals
May 2003 Interview in LA - Was told that though my points were less I
should receive ROLF soon. Must have been the new point system then.
Interview went really smooth.
June 2003 - Got letter to pay ROLF and request for latest police
certificate
Jan 2004 - Letter for pp
Feb 2004 - got pp stamped
Landing in April
Thanks
