Default Spouses entry with my study visa?

Hi there,

We were due to go to Canada next month, but have postponed it until January due to Covid,

My study permit has been approved for issue on arrival. I understand that, as I have my study permit approval, I am exempt from current travel restrictions. I am aware of the necessity for 14 day quarantine upon arrival.

Our intention was to apply upon arrival for my husbands work visa. Does anyone know if we will still be able to do this given the current restrictions? I can't find any answers online in relation to spouses & children. Is there anywhere I can speak someone who can answer my queries over the phone?
We also have 3 dependant children - I'm assuming they will be granted entry on the back of my study permit as pre covid regulations. If this is not the case, please let me know.

Any guidance on spouse issue would be appreciated.
Thank you. Susan

In normal circumstances yes you can apply at the POE for your husbands work permit and visitor records for dependent children assuming you are all UK citizens travelling on UK passports and passports will be valid for length of stay. If not documents will only be issued for duration of current passport used on entering Canada. As you are now postponing travel until January 2021 nobody knows what the rules will be then.

Thank you for your reply. If we were to go now, with current regulations, would he be able to apply at POE?
He has not yet applied for a tourist visa- it is our understanding that tourist visas are not being issued at present. Does my having a study visa supersede his need for a tourist visa?
Thank you. S

There is no 'tourist visa' for UK nationals .. or do you mean an e-TA? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...eta/apply.html

If you have postponed coming until January then todays procedures are irrelevant as things are changing all the time.
