Default spouse visitor visa question

Hi, all

I'm in a desperate situation and definitely need your help.

I came to Canada 4 years ago as an immigrant. Last month I married my wife
in China. Right after our marriage we went to Beijing to apply for a visitor
visa for my wife. We tried twice, both were denied. The visa officer
suggested that I sponsor my wife instead. So I did as soon as I came back to
Canada. The problem is that the immigration process may take years to
complete, even with the new rules (medical and sponsorship at the same time
and the theoretical highest priority). We've been apart for two years before
we finally got married. She becomes very sensitive and depressed and I feel
the same. If I go back to China to save our marriage, I may lose my status
and current job which I really like. Both of us cherish our relationship but
the reality is so cruel.

My question: is there any way that she can come to Canada while I'm
sponsoring her to immigrate? Maybe a minister's permit?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Danny

Default Re: spouse visitor visa question

Not really. Minister's Permit doesn't exist anymore and new Temporary
Resident Permit serves similar needs, but it is not intended for situation
like yours. Unfortunately you must go through the process like everyone
else. There are no shortcuts, sorry.
