Spouse interview waiver
Me and my wife intend to jointly apply through the skilled worker
class from the Canadian consulate in Buffalo, USA. My wife is
currently in my home country Pakistan, and under the current scenario,
would not be able to come to USA if called for an interview. Please
advise as to if I will need to request an interview waiver for her
along with my application, and what are the chances of obtaining it. I
am the principal applicant, currently residing in USA. Thanks in
advance.

interview waivers are not given on a per individual applicant basis... its for the whole flock... if the principal applicant gets a waiver.. then all do...

but i fyour wife has zero chance of attending an interview in the USA, then
don't apply in the USA otherwise you will b another poster askign how you
transfer a file to pakistan because you have to go to an interview in the
USA but cant all attend.
although saying that you are applying under the new law and it seems
technicaly there should be very few interviews under the new law. If you get
clearly over 75 points then maybe you could tak ethe risk and apply via
buffalo and if you get lower than 75 you probably will get a refusal anyway
rather than an interview.
Another thing to bear in mind is if you are succesful your wife will have to
submit her passport to Buffalo to get the stamp.

Thanx for the reply. Since I saw another post requesting interview
waiver for spouse, I thought one applicant out of the lot can get
waiver. Regarding my pre-assesment, I am scoring 75 points when i
include my wife as a joint applicant. By myself, I am scoring only 71.
I am assuming submitting passport for the stamp will not require
personal appearance and that my wife will be able to express mail it.
As I gather from what u wrote, are the interview waiver chances higher
under the new rules if one scores 75 or above points?

i dont think you are allowed to mail passport's out of pakistan... if i remember correctly, they are restricted items... check with custom's or with your embassy...
