Spouse cant attend interview- refused US Visa
Hi...
I had applied frrom Buffalo in May 02 & my interview is scheduled in April 04. Im from India & I am holding a 10 year multi entry Tourist Visa to US, but my wife has been refused a US Tourist Visa today. This means that she will not be able to accampany me for the interview. I am the Principal Applicant and she is the dependent - we dont have any children.
I have the following questions.
1) Can I still attend the interview without my wife as per schedule
2) Will this adversely affect my case, or its OK. I have the Tourist Visa refusal letter given to me by the US Consulate.
Pl. let me know if anyone has faced some thing similar.

Re: Spouse cant attend interview- refused US Visa
Send a fax to consulate where your interview will take place notifying them
that your wife won't be able to attend (include visa refusal letter) and
confirm that you as principal applicant will be there.

Re: Spouse cant attend interview- refused US Visa
I had similar problem last year. But I didnt inform them ahead of
interview. Instead I took documents, showing visa refusal of my spouse
and they didnt question me about that.
But, as Mr. Miller has suggested, I think it is appropriate to inform
them immediately, that your spouse cant make it.
Goodluck with the interview.
