No, only Alberta, Manitoba and SK allow sponsorship of an aunt/uncle I believe. Any cousins in those provinces?

It doesn't really give you much advantage anyway, although it'll take you around 5 years to sponsor your mum, it would take about 4 years for a niece/nephew to do it via PNP anyway.

I dont suppose her brother or sister could do it they are permanent residents and have had very successful businesses in the past. They are of good stature but have retired early?

Again, it depends on which province they are in. Under the federal Family Class program, only dependent children, parents and grandparents can be sponsored, but the provinces I mentioned in an earlier post allow for more family members to be sponsored via their PNP's. Siblings can be sponsored under those PNP's, as can aunts/uncles, but they must be living in AB, SK or MB (and have to have been for a certain amount of time, think it's 2 years).
