Single Mom, Immigrating to Canada
Hi folks,
Got the following message from someone, can anyone provide advice?
Thanks.
I am single mother of two and in the final process of my application.
I am the only caretaker for my children. The father is not invoved
with them. We tried to live with him but he left us and never tried to
contact. Now, I have the custody of my children and completed
everything to immigrate.
The Canadian High Commission processing my application asked me to get
the father sign for the children. But I can not get hold of him and he
doesn't want to be found. I don't want to miss this chance for my
children and myself. What must I do? I have a reliable job and am
commited to secure my childrens well being and secre future. As a
mother am I not allowed to immigrate with my children? I need your
advice and view on this.
Thank you.

Re: Single Mom, Immigrating to Canada
The other parents (in this case father) have rights too and they must
consent to have their children taken out of the jurisdiction (out of
country). If court in the custody decision revoked his parental rights then
she doesn't need the consent, but if not then she needs one. If father in
nowhere to be found then she must go back to court and seek revocation of
his parental rights.
