Singapore Embassy
Hi
Anyone received interview request or PPR from Singapore embassy?
If yes, please post your timeline here.
Thanks much. It seems that the Singapore post (like many other posts) has slowed down in the recent years.)
Is there any other site for applicants from Asia which is as useful as this forum?

Re: Singapore Embassy
Nothing heard from Singapore CHC since aor in oct 2003. This is getting quite frustrating when Singapore CHC used to be fast. I hope Singapore applicants are not sleeping as well (would like to see more responses from them).

Thank you for the response, Hankim.
Even I haven't heard anything after the AOR.
Wonder if this delay is related to the class action suit? Read some discussion about that in this forum.
Regards

Re: Singapore Embassy
I do not think that the delay came from the class action suit cos otherwise other processing centres (eg Buffalo & London) would have been delayed as well.
If only those who had received recent communications from Singapore CHC could have responded to this thread.

Re: Singapore Embassy
Just read the following on Singapore website of CIC. Hope it will expedite processing of Singapore-based applicants.
Effective October 18, 2004 applications for temporary and permanent residence in Canada from persons residing in Malaysia should be submitted directly to the Canadian High Commission in Malaysia.

Re: Singapore Embassy
I applied in Oct 2003. Received AOR Nov 2003.
Till now nothing heard. Waiting for IA. I heard
Malaysian CHC is only processing temporary visa
and visit visas only, but not immigration applications.
Any inputs on this? Hope Singapore CHC would
finalize 2003 applications by this year.
Cheers

CIC website states that CHC Malaysia has started processing immigration visas
Did you try checking status with Singapore CHC? How about your caips (have they done paper screening)?

I did not apply for CAIPS. Is it worth applying for it.
Have you got your CAIPS? If so how could you get it?
My english score is bit low. Thinking of taking one moretime.
Reading : 6.5
Listening : 8
Writing : 7.5
Speaking: 6
what do you reckon?
Cheers

you could apply thru "CaipsNotes.com" (I think you should )
I got my caips last year (not yet paper screened, most fields were blank).
How would your overall points be affected by your ielts.

Re: Singapore Embassy
Hi hankim,
Thanks for your input. My total points currently stands at 68,
just one mark above the benchmark. I dont know whether i
should retake IELTs just to make it 72. (total 16 for english).
I am thinking of applying for caips. How many pages do we
get if we apply now (I mean after AOR)?
Cheers

Re: Singapore Embassy
Good idea to try to raise your points in the context of the discussion that the required points will almost certainly go up in the near future AND the new requirement will be applicable to ALL applicants (There has been considerable discussion about this in this forrum.)
Good luck for IELTS.
Reg Caips: I made the same mistake of applying for CAIPS. Spent about 40 C$ only to get a few pages with all fields blank. The only information was about BFD, which is not vey useful, really.
