Default should i get an immigration lawyer?

I'm applying for residency from Vancouver after having lived here for a year. I've been working in a good job for a year, and now need all the paper work done. Is it really difficult? Will a lawyer make a big difference? Also is $4k a reasonable price?

Thanks so much!

I think that a lawyer will not be of any help. The CIC website gives all the information, step by step. Besides $4K is too much.

If you have to hire a lawer, 2 to 2.5 may be OK

Take my words, don't hire any lawyer, you can do it by yourself. I had
a very bad experience with one of the immigration-consulting firm and
it slowed down my case.

I have done it myself for my entire family. I live in Ottawa and you
are most welcome to contact me if it suits you.
