Self employed TWP???

Self employed TWP???
Hi
I've been told that it may be possible for my Oh to get a TWP whilst we are going through the Community Identified route, for NS.
Does anyone have any experience of this as I've searched and haven't found any information on this?
All I've been told is that he has to wait for our application to be approved by Halifax and the he can apply - trouble is I found no evidence that there is any chance that he will get it.
FYI - he's an instrument tutor and has almost a full weeks work waiting for him in September which he doesn't want to lose.
