ROLF
My mother in law and her two dependent sons have passed the interview stage
and have been given their medical forms. At some point I assume that my
wife and I as sponsors will be asked to pay the ROLF. One son is 10 years
old and the other is 20 and a full time student. He was under 18 at the
time that we submitted our application to sponsor. Will we have to pay ROLF
for the two sons in addition to that for my mother-in-law?. The info on the
CIC website does not seem to be very clear in this manner.
The time line for those interested.
Sponsor application submitted late September 2001
Sponsor application approved in January 2002. No AOR ever received just the
approval and the application for our family.
Application submitted to Embassy in Lima Peru June 2002. Application was
delayed due to need to get child custody documents
August 2002 Telephone request from Embassy for father of the youngest child
to go to embassy to sign papers concerning his knowedge of the process and
for mother to report for interview in November 2002. No papers requested.
November 2002 Interview completed successfully and medical papers given.
Interview dealt with her realtionship to childre and to advise her that
mature children could not be added or accompany her to Canada. Interviewer
was polite but that was it. She was nto friendly and according to my mother
in law was Peruvian nad not even Canadian.
Good luck to all.
