Default relatives for five points

Hi,
I have close cousin in Canada. She is my mother's niece (our parents are
siblings). Can I assess myself five points for such relative? What kind of
proof should I deliver?

Thanks in advance,
Jakub's wife

You won't get any points for cousins. But you will for your aunt or uncle depending on which one is a blood relative (immediate sister/brother) to your mother and is currently residing in Canada.

You then need to obtain your mothers birth certificate which shows her fathers name and same for your aunt/uncle. I think you only have to match up one name i.e your mothers father. You can also use marriage certificates for your mother which will also have her fathers name.

Also, don't forget to obtain lots of bills, tax returns, mortgage statments, credit card bills, bank statements, finance agreements, junk mail etc to show that your relative is residing in Canada.

Actually not sure on the junk mail bit, but if you receive something saying "you've qualified for a 0% loan blah blah blah" you must be living there to receive it? Anyone any views on that? Plus it's one way for the relative to dispose of junk mail! give it to CIC!

Yeah What u suggest is correct.
But it will be nice if one regulate the required docs.

1> Birth certificate of you father & his sibling or mother & her
sibling.
( This enshoure the relationship with aunt or uncle)

2> Utility BiLLS.
( All the cerdit card statements etc)

3> T4 form

4> Certficate of the Citizenship.

Offcource one will need to submit only the photocopy of each
of the above documents.

This will ensure one to get 5 points on relative.

Best of luck

Well, thanks a lot for good will, but my cousin's parents still live in
Poland. My cousin is going to sponsor them, but it will take at least a
year, if not longer. Anyway, I think it's a little bit weird that cousin
cant give me five point, its close family, she lives about 8 years in
Canada. It's a pity...

Best regards,
Jakub's wife
