Default For Andrew, Miller and other experts

I have completed more than 1095 days in canada. I can apply for
citizenship right now. I have to go to back home country for a longer
time, because I have to wind up many things and come back to canada. I
know I will have to come and take my test and Oath etc. I have the
following question.

If I apply for citizenship and live outside canada untill my test call
comes, will there be any problem or will I loose something which I
should not?(I know I can,t enter canada without a pr card after Dec.
2003).

Your opinion please......

Thanx in advance

The decision on granting citizenship will be based on the information
provided in your application and you can leave the country pending the
test and the ultimate swearing in ceremony. You do know about the
requirement to have the PR card after Dec 31, 2003 if entering the
country by commercial carrier.

Yes Mr. Ron Beirnes, I know about the pr card , thats why I have
already applied for the pr card and will not go out untill I get hold
of PR card. What I was planing is, I would go and come back to canada
when I will be sent a letter for a test etc. I suppose my friend will
inform me about that. Is it possible?

Secondly I read some posts over here explaining that the pr card can
not be sent to a commercial address. Where as I have provided them
with the address of a convenience store. Will that matter???? your
advise plzzzzzzzz

Thanx a lot

Yes, it matters - PR Card will not be mailed to a convenience store as such
has a commercial address.

But it is irrelevant in your case anyway as you landed 3 years ago and had
to apply for Card - you will have to pick-up your Card personally from local
CIC office. You will receive a letter with pick-up appointment scheduled
when Card is issued and reaches your local CIC office.

It interests me how the visa officer knows the address provided at the
port is a commercial one or not. Do you know the answer?

It is not a visa officer - it is CIC office in Canada that is mailing PR
Cards.

All government offices (as well as most businesses) have a link to the
database of all Canadian addresses. It simply tells if address is commercial
or residential and if system is set up to accept only residential address
then the commercial one won't be accepted. Technology is beautiful...
