Hi,

my other half has a conviction From New Zealand ( he is a Kiwi) for assault which was over 15 years ago. I have Canadian Citizenship and am wanting to sponsor him in the family class sector. Apologies if this has been answered in any threads but it seems very confusing. Does he need to apply for rehabilitaion or would he be classified as already rehabilitated as it was over 10 years ago?? There was no custodial sentence and only a fine imposed due to the lack of severity of the crime?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it really confusing!!

i think he may have to do some serious sucking up to the immigration officer when he lands, failing that hide him in your suitcase!
