Default Regisgtered Nurse or Liscenced Practical Nurse

Hi all,

I am currently looking into emigrating to Canada on the express entry system. I am a registered nurse in the UK with a BSc Hons degree but what does that equat to in Canada. Would I still be a Registered Nurse or a Liscenced Practical Nurse in Canada?

A lot depends on the assessment done by the provincial college of RNs. Your transcripts do need to show clinical and theory in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetric and Adult

I'm trying to complete the NNAS and I am being asked whether I am a Registered Nurse or a Liscenced Practical Nurse. I assume a Liscenced Practical Nurse is what in the uk is a nurse that has only studied to diploma level or what was known as a State Enrolled Nurse

I have only started filling out one form so far and I'm lost. God help me for the rest of the process.

I would suggest completing the form as a RN with BSN as that is what you have as per the UK. LPN is quat used to be ENG not RN with diploma. I trained in the UK many moons ago and although I didn't go through NNAS I did go through and be assessed as Diploma and I was a ENG that bridged to RN in the UK.

Hi Iam also hoping to move to canada, I am at the beginning of the process and very confused so far. I am currently working as a Registered nurse in UK . I have a Diploma in Nursing gained in the UK so think I will only be able to work as a LPN. Please can you advise me on the process so far with the NNAS. The problem I think for us UK nurses in the Express Entry system is that how can we get a Job offer if we have to go through all theses Regularity Bodies first, Which will delay our application by months. Please could someone enlighten me, I would be most grateful.
