Record suspension forms
My husband has been undergoing an application for a record suspension to Canada, one form is a local police check on the UK side. He got a criminal record check done but we are wondering if anyone else has done this and if so does the local police have to fill the form out? Can provide images of the form if needed.
thankyou

Re: Record suspension forms
I am assuming he has a criminal record. If he is inadmissible he would need to apply for Rehabilitation. Who told you he needed a record of suspension?

What is it you are applying for? What was he convicted of and when did the offence occur and what was the sentence?
How to obtain a UK police certificate

we were told because he has served his 5 years outside of canada he is considered rehabilitated and in the forms he has to explain how he thinks he's rehabilitated and how this suspension will benefit him. As for his charges they are minor things such as breach of probation, resisting arrest and cause of disturbance

Re: Record suspension forms
Sounds like he is eligible to apply for rehabilitation as more than 5 years have elapsed from when any sentence was imposed and has been completed in full.
Read the link I gave you that will explain how to apply for rehabilitation and how to fill out the forms.

Re: Record suspension forms
Back to my original question though, there is part for the record suspension application where there is a section that must be filled out,(local police check form) does he need to get that filled out by the police although he has had a criminal record check done by ACRO and has received the certificate? Is the ACRO certicate sufficient enough for that part of the application any help would be greatly appreciated as we are stuck as what to do next.

Re: Record suspension forms
Huh? So were his criminal convictions ACTUALLY IN CANADA?? From what you have written, it sounded like they were crimes committed in the UK??

The part you have quoted / posted appears to be for someone who has
Convictions / offences in Canada
If you have a criminal conviction in Canada, you must seek a record suspension (formerly a pardon) from the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) before you will be admissible to Canada.
An application for rehabilitation for offenses committed outside of Canada s different. If you have a criminal conviction in Canada, you must seek a record suspension (formerly a pardon) from the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) before you will be admissible to Canada.
Did your husband committed the crime in the UK or Canada?
I'd suggest another read of this link - the process to be able to get permission to enter / be considered rehabilitated for having committed an offense (or 2) IN Canada is different to the process for obtaining rehabilitation approval for offenses committed outside Canada - or even one in each! It's easy to be confused as both processes are shown on the same page, but in fact they are separate and independent of each other: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ty.html#5312E6
Convictions / offences outside Canada
If you were convicted of or committed a criminal offence outside Canada, you may overcome this criminal inadmissibility
If you were convicted of or committed a criminal offence outside Canada, you may overcome this criminal inadmissibility
- by applying for rehabilitation, or
- you may be deemed to have been rehabilitated if at least ten years have passed since you completed the sentence imposed upon you, or since you committed the offence, if the offence is one that would, in Canada, be an indictable offence punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of less than ten years.

Re: Record suspension forms
Yes sorry I should have explained abit more, his convictions were IN CANADA. As reading all links found on the Canadian website we are under the impression as he has served the 5 years outside of canada (home country UK) that we apply for a record suspension (pardon)
We are looking for this pardon so in future we may travel to Canada as a family or even if possible move back.
However as filling the forms we've gone over again multiple times; we believe, for each residence he has lived at (the last 5 years) we need local police in those areas to sign the (form 2) of local police use only (bringing in the ACRO certificate). I do believe we have figured it out but I thankyou all for your replies and I apologise for the confusions 😅
