Received AOR on Nov 16th '2001. Getting married in Feb-March '2003.
Hi All,
I received my AOR on Nov 16th '2001 and nothing after that.
Hopefully, should be getting something this month or early next month.
I'm planning to get married in Feb-March '2003.
- If I don't get my landing papers by Feb 2003, will it be a good
idea to get married and include my wife in the application?
Will it slow the application process?
- If I do marry, is it required to include her in the application or
can get my landing visa, go to Canada and then apply?
- Any idea about the time it takes after you send your medicals to get the
landing visa?
Thank you for your time.

1. you must inform the visa office of your change in marital situation.. you should fill out an application for your spouse as an accompanying dependant, include the appropriate fee, and send it... your will will have to be examined by a dmp, and would have to undergo the same background checks.. yes it will definately extend the processing time..
2. if your marital status changes between the time you apply and you get the visa, unless your wife is included in the application, your pr visa becomes void... you cannot land if you had gotten married in the meantime until your wife is issued with a visa... if you do it will constitute misrepresentation and fraud... at the time of landing you will be asked if your marital situation has changed... if you say yes, you will be denied landing... if you lie... then the obvious concequences will follow..
3. each case is different...
