questions questions! :)
hi
heres s this thing- my husband is a canadian citizen with US Perm.
residence card and im american citizen with a baby who was born in
america. we are discussing about moving to canada this summer (june).
now- i read the posts and came to those questions-
1. will my husband have to BE IN canada in order for us to apply for
the canada perm. residence for me or could we apply from USA? can we
come in canada together as a family in june while the application is
being processed?
2. what is visitor visa? if the situation comes to the point where my
husband have to be in canada in order to process the application,
could the vistiro visa be applied towarwds me and our baby? i called
the buffalo consulate and it said there s a year in back log of the
applications. im not going to be apart from my hubby for that long esp
with our beautiful daughter! what s the suggestions?
3. what s the total of fees for the perm. residence application for
the family? im bit confused about the fees. 75 for the application fee
and then what else s the fees?
4. will our house stuff (such as tv, couches, beds, so on forth) be
taxed when we move into canada?
i think that s about it for now with the questions. im sure more will
come up as the time goes by.
thanks in advance!

If your spouse is a Canadian he can start the application in the US, he
would have to give a statement to CIC that once the visa is issued for you,
then you all would proceed to Canada. You probably could enter Canada, but
be truthful and state that there is an application being processed in
Buffalo. By the way if your spouse is the father of the baby, then child
has Canadian citizenship. If not, ensure that you have the permission of
the court to take the child (sole custody) out of the juristiction of the
court.

If you are a US citizen or green card holder , you don't require a "visitor
visa"

Spousal applications are processed in about 6 months if no interview is
required.

If your child is a Canadian citizen, then the fee for yourself is $550 C and
$975 C right of permanent resident fee.

If you receive your PR status then the goods can be brought in tax and duty
free as settler effects. Your spouse as a returning Canadian may be able to
bring in the goods, without fees, but you should check with Canada Customs
and Revenue Agency on their website.
