Do your PR immigration case go through faster if you use a lawyer?
Does age length of marriage or such affect the case?
WHat is the longest can immigration take to respond to a PR case?
Do you have to wait longer if you live in Ontario?

no

no

there doesnt appear to be an upper limit
    > Do you have to wait longer if you live in Ontario?
no

Basicalyl what has happened is that there is one visa post that handles
sponsorships applciations made from within Canada and that is CPC
Vegreville.
Before the new law, as you know applying in february, you had to file as am
H&C case.
When the new law came into effect they made inland applications an official
category and they had to retrain all teh staff at CPC vegreville. SO what
appears to haev happened is they have all been retrained and everything
reorganised and while this has happened a huge backlog of cases has built up
as they have been concentrating more on things like visitor visas and work
permits etc. So now they are wading through a huge backlog of applications
starting around when you applied at the beginning of 2002.
Those who applied earlier at teh end of 2001 were getting their first reply
the AIP in around 3-4 months and then the PR some time after, however people
who have applied in february and later (except apparentl maybe 2 or 3
people) have not got anything yet. I belong to a yahoo group called
canadian_immigration which is mainly spousal applicants and many of those
are inland and there are people who have applied as far back as
february/march and then almost every month afterwards and none have gotten
their AIP yet.
So do not worry it is nothing you have done and there is nothing you could
have done to make it any quicker, it is purely the faulty of bad
organisation and beurocracy.
In fact in a CBC news artciel recently on this huge backlog in Vegreville
the Minsiter for Immigration was actually quoted as saying he had no idea
there was even a problem there, so like Jim said, get writing to yoru MP,
and coderre and the PM etc etc till someone take snotice and goes and sorts
it out.
