Question on step children
Please can some one advise:
We are applying for skilled worker immigration. Our two children will be coming with us.
What i would like to know is: Our eldest child isn't Mine by Birth. Her bio Father has passed away. I have never Adopted her. Yes her Bio mother is my wife and yes she is applying with me.
Will we require some form or proof she can be taken from the country?
Also I have a child from another relationship. what do i need to provide in my application about this child. I make regular payments to him, but i have no court orders or judgments to this effect. I will be adding a covering letter stating i will keep paying but is this enough?
Your help would be appreciated.
Ted

Re: Question on step children
Dear Ted:
Your step daughter will be included in your application as an accompanying
dependent.
If you wish to have your child from another relationship included in your
application for Canadian permanent residency, you will have to obtain a
written letter from the child's mother granting permission for you to bring
your child to Canada. If your child is not planning on accompanying you to
Canada, you will still have to provide information to CIC about your child.
Child support payments will be taken into consideration as to whether or not
you will be able to successfully settle in Canada.
Yours truly,
Lori Roberts
