Question about withdrawing application

Question about withdrawing application
Hi,
I have a question. I was working in Canada on a work permit that expired in July 2007. Before it expired I applied for an extension of the permit but soon after got a job offer from Spain and I moved to Spain. But before I left Canada I received a letter in the mail from the Quebec government stating that they would grant me an extension for 24 months. But then I moved.
Now,the situation is that I might get a job with a different company in Canada once again and will have to apply for a new work permit. However, I never withdrew my application for the work permit extension and I don't know if I actually got it or not. What do you suggest I do before I apply for a new work permit with that other company? Is it OK to just apply for a new permit?
Thanks a lot
Daniel

Re: Question about withdrawing application
Thanks for the quick reply... one more question,
When I applied for my first work permit it took about 6 weeks to get it. Do you think it could go faster this time (2-3 weeks or something) since I've already worked in Canada before?
I am just trying to estimate how long it would take... thanks!

Re: Question about withdrawing application
Hi
Hard to say, if it is a job in province where "it is an occupation under pressure" then the LMO will be much quicker. If it is not, then depending on the province, the employer could be waiting for up to 6 months for an LMO.
