Question about NSNP
hello all,
Thought I'd try to ask this question here first, To fill anyone in I'm trying to immigrate to Canada using the NSNP way, my question is can I apply for my NSNP in the UK or can I only apply to NS for this. Reading this back it sounds stupid but it's because the NSNP department is apparently new and is taking a while longer than usual (this information was passed on to me so don't now how true it is) and my employer was wondering if there was a quicker way ie applying in the UK. I know PR is applied though London.
thanks
Emma

NSNP is not new. Its been going for several years. The only thing that changed is that about 12 months ago they stopped accepting applications for the economic scheme as they are going to come up with new criteria. I think if you are nominated for a specific job/skill it hasn't changed much.
Provincal Nominees processed through London are very fast. Our application was only sent to London from Canada on 27 Nov and we've already had our medicals. We are hoping to get the results next week and then fingers crossed PPR soon.

Re: Question about NSNP
The 2006 nominee certificate issuance reached its maximum in the summer and the program was "on hold" until the new year. The economic stream is currently still suspended until a revamped program is designed. Skilled worker, community identified and the new family business stream applications are being accepted but as you can imagine there has been a bit of a backlog that has "burst" onto the Office of Immigration's desks after the new year break.
