Default Question about ECA for FSW Program

Hi all,

I hope I am in the right section of the forum.

Under the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) for Canadian immigration and I must get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) of my completed foreign educational credentials.

My question is do you need to get an ECA certification for your latest degree - the one you are claiming points for or do you need to get the ECA for all your degrees as you are submitting them as part of your profile ?

Latest degree in most instances. From the Instructions

Note: You will be awarded points for your highest completed credential(s). If you have specified an occupation in your application that requires an ECA report from a designated professional body, but you have also completed a foreign educational credential at a higher level that is not related to your intended occupation, you will need to have the additional credential assessed by one of the “multi-purpose” organizations designated by CIC. Both original ECA reports must be included with your application in order to receive maximum education points.

All you've got to do is copy and paste it in to Google, and it'll tell you where PMM got it from (hint: it's the application guide).

Hi--
I am preparing to submit my application under phd stream, I have my highest education which is my masters degree is from Canada. Do I still need ECA for my bachelor degree. The reason I am asking, I am getting 23 points for my masters degree which is from canada, so in that case i hope I don't need the ECA. Please help with your advise or any source where I might get the answer specifically for this situation. Thanks in advance.

You don't need an ECA for that as it's a Canadian qualification, and wouldn't need an ECA if you're not using your degree in your application at all.

But if you're submitting your degree cert and/or transcripts as part of your application, then you'll need an ECA.

HTH.

Thanks A lot for the prompt response. I understood that I do not need the ECA for my Canadian degree which is my masters and also my highest education from that I am getting 23 points out of 25 (did not finish my phd yet). But as a proof of my other academic credentials (bachelor and high school certificates and transcripts), isn't that I need to submit my other educational documents as well? So, if I submit those documents with my application as supporting documents or as an evidence does it mean that I am using those degree in my application? I don't think i am.
