Quebec spouse
Here is my situation, I am a Canadian citizen living in Montreal, Quebec planning to marry at the end of November. My future wife is from Romania and we are going to start the sponsorship process ASAP after the marriage. I read carefully the guides and I have a few questions:
1. Can I seek approval for sponsorship eligibility prior to marriage? I mean, can I somehow speed the procees by asking now if I am eligible to sponsor her?
2. How does this medical examination work ( I am talking about the new process where you can submitt both the application and the medicals at the same time)? Where and when should she go to ask for medicals (does she have to go to the embasssy and ask for a form and then undergo the test, or what?)
Has anyone sponsored his/her spouse for Quebec? What was the timeline/process/issues encountered?

Hi!
I am Romanian too, I've been in Canada for 15 months now, married a
Canadian and filed in for Pr.
It depends where you are going to marry her because if you marry her
in Romania she will have to file in from there as she will not be able
to get a visitors visa once married to you.
You can only sponsor her if you marry her before or if you are
common-law partners (that is if you have lived together for more that
1 year). The second way is harder since you will have to prove that
you lived together and that you have finacial ties.
As for the medicals i wouldn't know too much since i file from within
and it's different. But if you read your guide carefully you will find
all info there.

I am flying out to Romania on Nov 10 and have the legal marriage on Nov 15th. Obviously we are applying with her being in Romania. How long did it take for you to get the PR?
