Quebec Immigration - newbie's questions
Hello all,
I've just taken the initial steps to migrating to Quebec by submitting my DPI (to the Hong Kong office).
I have a couple of questions:
1) What kind of supporting documents do they require with the demande de certificat de selection du Quebec? I was hoping to get a start on this.
2) I understand the fees are:
Fee for the CSQ (payable on application)
Fee for the PR application (payable on application)
Medicals fee
Landing fee (payable later on in the process)
I appreciate that there will be a few other costs such as notorising documents etc, but have I forgotten any major ones?
Thanks,
Evelynne

Mostly:
- Certified copies of your diplomas
- Birth Certificate
- Certified copy of your wedding act (if any :-) )

- 300$ for CSQ
- 550$ + 975$ / person except children for Visa

Everything depends where you plan to stay in Quebec and the way of living
you plan. Consider (for a month) :
- 900$ for apartment. Don't expect to find a cheap apartment because the market
is saturated.
- 400$ for a car
- 200$ for food / fun

Hi, I applied for my certificat throught the Hong Kong bureau. I
found them to be very efficient. They replied promptly to all my
inquiries.
You will need to provide notorised copies of all your educational
certificates plus letters of from your previous employers describing
your job function, dates worked etc. These have to be on letterhead
paper and if not in English or French officially translated. You also
have to provide your CV preferably in French. The more you
demonstrate your willingness to communicate in French then the easier
it will be for your application. It takes about 4-6 months to receive
your certificat.
Good Luck

Thanks everyone
Thanks to you both for your replies to my questions. Most helpful.
Ashley - did you have to attend an interview in Hong Kong?
Thanks,
Evelynne

No I was given a waiver. I applied from NZ and my qualifications are
from the UK and NZ. Quebec is giving more and more interview waivers
so there is a reasonable chance that you will not be interviewed.

Thanks Ashley, that's good to hear!
I'm in Auckland at the moment, and would have preferred not to have had to travel to HK for an interview!
