Dear all:

I'm Premkumar from India.I've got an invitation for doing my PhD in Univ de
Montreal,Quebec from Sep 2002 onwards (3 days back).The professor is providing me
full aid (to cover my living expenses and tution fee) .

I understand that, for Qubec student visa.I have to apply to Damascus,Syria.

Some of the things I need clarifications are ..

1. Should I appear in person at Syria (it would be difficult for me ) ?

2. What are the documents that I need to produce for getting the visa?

3. Should I send my Passport in post ?

4. Regarding the fee.. which currency I need to pay the
fee/demand-draft in Indian-rupees or Syrian-currency ?

5. I intend to apply for Premanent Residence, can I apply togather? or is it easier
to apply for PR once I am there as a student?

I would glad if someone could provide me with details, since I have to make it
before Sep2002.
