Default Proof of Language Ability

Last year I attended an exhibition at Sandown Racecourse here in the UK where I was informed that I would not be required to take a language test to prove my English abilities as I was born and have lived in the UK all my life.

Has anyone submitted a letter explaining this with their application in place of language ability test results and if so, could anyone forward a copy to me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

You do not have to take the IELTS since English is your first language, and
you were born in the UK, and have resided in the UK during your entire life.

Yours truly,

Warning to all new here:

Do your research on Manitoba's websites and their court decisions.
You'll find out that principals of webimmigration and their only
lawyer are charged with people smuggling, drugs trafficking and other
serious crimes. Their only lawyer Ingrid Chan is suspended from
practicing law for past few years.

Just so you know who is who here.

They may be untrustworthy but the advice is correct on this occasion.

My immigration lawyer advised me to have a ELTS test.

However, instead, I did not take it because I would have to wait longer
until I could submit my application (and didn't want to take the risk of
getting a lower score). I also posted to this website and got some good
advice.

I included in my application letter saying why I wasn't taking an ELTS test
- being UK born, and specified my training and work experience in English -
ie, been through UK educational system, worked for English speaking
countries all my life etc etc.

IELTS is not manadatory but you must make a submission as part of your
document package stating why you think you are exempt. A visa officer will
not/ can not infer that you are proficient in English just because you are
born in a English speaking country.
