Default processing time

i was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. i filed for
immigration under the skilled worker category in august 2001 and got
my file no in september 2001. wrote the IELTS with an overall 8 band
in december 2002, the results of which were sent in sometime in Feb
2002. updated case and provided additional documents in April 2003 as
per the new IRPA rules. i hold visitors visa to cananda and visited
canada in January 2003 and sent CHC record of the same. while there, i
opened an account with a canadian bank.
certian immigration attorneys say that CHC plans to clear all old
cases by Jan 2004. is there any truth in that? how much time will i
have to wait for things to materialize? when should i expect
something? also, what is the timeline for medicals??
thanks in advance!

First - you may put the claim about January 2004 deadline for conclusion of
old cases into the urban legends folder.

Second - you didn't tell us your nationality, countries you resided in and
visa post processing your case. Without that info nobody can even try to
guess your timeline.

Sir,

Could you shed some light to our time line:

Our file (Business Class)was in process at Damascus since the year
2000. In April 2003 after submission of our new schedules with all
completed information, Damascus transferred the file to London under
direction of CIC.

We did not request Damascus to transfer the file. Damascus after
transfering the file under CIC direction inform us to make all future
communication with London only.

Could you please guide us that approximately when should we hear any
development to our case from London? Now almost 42 months completed
after submission of our papers.

Thanks,

Praveen Daruwala.

Dear Mr. Andrew Miller
I applied in May 2001 to CHC London from Saudi Arabia, I up dated
information in June 2003 along with IELTS results and proof of
relative in Canada upon the advise of CHC London. But I did not
receive any thing even the acknowlegement of documents unil now. Would
you please advise me what is this " Claim about January 2004 deadline
for conslusion of old cases." I shall be thankfull to you.

Seems that you didn't read my reply to the other poster (Tans) - there is
absolutely no such thing as "January 2004 deadline for conclusion of old
cases". It is a myth, rumor, legend...

You should expect assessment notice (decision about need for interview at
any time now. If your interview is waived then you'll get medical forms and
you may hope for the conclusion of the process within 4 to 8 or so months
from medicals. But if interview is required then don't expect it to be
scheduled before end of this year.
