Hi all
Me and partner have landed and become PR. Unfortunately i had to leave Canada after landing. Our children did not land and have not lived in Canada.
My questions:
Can my partner sponsor me (former PR) in case i lost my status?
How soon can my partner sponsor our children (both under 16) to go to Canada.
Thanks.

Hi
1. As soon as your partner wishes, s/he can sponsor both of you, the children or whatever combination.
2. If it is common/law relationship, how are you going to demonstrate that you have been living together for a year?

When did you "land"? To retain your PR status you must be in Canada for 2 out of 5 years, that is accumulating days not continuous.

According to this thread, the OP planned to land in April 2011 so I am not sure why s/he would need to be sponsored - the PR status is still valid. If the children didn't land they would need to be sponsored though.

Thanks all for the replies. Basically I still have a valid PR, but due to my current work in Australia, i dont think i will be able to satisfy the requirement to maintain my PR.
Since we are married, I should have said my 'spouse' instead of 'partner'. my mistake.
Cheers
