Ok, here's a quickie, if/when I get my LMO and TWP at POE, I intend to apply for PR basically as soon as I get settled, my employer stated permanent on my LMO application. My question is, do I have to apply Outland, ie through London, or can I apply inland? This seems to make a massive difference to processing times, so if I'm correct, I would rather apply inland, as I think I will be.
Some of this stuff is bloody head melting!

It will depend on which route you take. I did it via PNP within Canada and My application was initially to Buffalo which then got farmed out to Detroit.

You can only apply inland if here for1 year or more, so it would be the 25 months or whatever it is now, unfortunately. You could do CEC or whatever exists after this!?

I'm sure that's what you meant, but it wasn't terribly clear from you statement above, so just wanted to clarify it for the sake of anybody reading!

Just to clarify the above - you don't have to have been in Canada for a year before being able to apply 'inland', you only have to have been *admitted* to Canada for a year or more. So you could be admitted on a 2 year TWP say, and then apply inland the week after arriving no problem.

When you get your copy of the LMO, check to see if it advises you to apply for PNP after 6 months. This can be a good route if your initial TWP is for 2 years (and may expire before PR is confirmed). Having PNP makes it easier for extending the TWP.

Once you have received PNP nomination, you can apply for a TWP using the nomination.
If you have received AOR for the PR part of PNP, you can obtain a Bridging Open Work Permit if you have less than 4 months left on your current TWP.

Not true, I had to be in employment for 6 months before applying for SINP and I was emloyed in a NOC level 0 position (Scientific Manager).

Can I just ask, with all the changes the government are bringing in are people still getting PR? My hubby awaiting LMIA but is worried that we may get settled and then have to come home after 12 months once WP has expired.

If so, does this apply to express entry as that will have come in by then?
The CIC wording definitely makes it sound like work experience gained whilst in Canada, or are they assuming that you will accrue this experience whilst the paperwork is being processed?? It's so confusing!
"
You must provide proof of qualifying work experience, including:
• a copy of your most recent authorization to work in Canada (i.e. work permit or visitor record)
• employer reference letters for all periods of qualifying work experience you identify in your application
• copies of your T4 tax information slips and your Notice of Assessment (NOA) issued by the Canada Revenue
Agency for the period(s) of work experience you identify in your application (CIC preferred),
OR
• a sufficient combination of other supporting documentation, which could include copies of a record or letter of employment from the employer in Canada, work contracts and pay stubs for the period(s) of work experience you identify in your application."
Any clarification/confirmation would be appreciated
Thanks

So if our TWPs are granted for 2 years when we go in January, we can apply under CEC straight away, without having accrued any canadian experience? (Skilled worker/NOC level A)

But I wasn't referring to the CEC, it was in reference to the query about which visa office to apply under.
HTH.
