Hi
My husband is in Vancouver and the children and I are still in England trying to sell the house. However my husband wants to apply for PR now as he's not too sure how safe his job is. He has been offered another job already but we don't really want to get another work permit as it seems daft if he can get a PR. However I have an sposal open work permit and I was wondering if anyone knew what would happen if/when OH has a PR card how do I get in. Will I still beable to use my open work permit or do I have to apply for something else..........................
Hope someone can help.

Hi if your hubby went for PR you and the kids go on the form too then you all get PR together as a family.

I hope I'm explaining this properly. He's going to use the PR application form you can only do when already residing in Canada. Can we add ourselves to this form as we aren't residing ourselves yet or do we all have to land 1st and do it in one big application?

Thats fine he adds you all to the application forms, kids need to be under 21 i believe (double check on cic website) and you all need to pass criminal, medical and background checks.........lots of people apply for PR even when principal applicant is in Canada and other family members abroad, as and when PR is granted your husband would land first and you and the kids would need to land before one year from when the medical was taken....... hope this helps.

Hi
Sorry I'm not sure on that one.
Someone with a more experience might be able to help more.
But I would still think he would include spouse and dependants on application.

He has no choice but to include you on the application. The rules about which stream to use apply to the principal applicant. The family come in on that.
