Default PR activation - accompanying goods and goods 2 follow lists

We are very excited about activating our visas next Wednesday on a trip to Vancouver. However we will be returning to the UK after 3 weeks and are unlikely to be in a position to emigrate for at least 1 year and maybe up to 3 years.

As we will be on a holiday only for this activation trip, do we still need to provide accompanying goods and goods to follow lists for the visa activation trip? Clearly it is very difficult to predict what we will have accompanying us and to follow in 1- 3 year's time! We will be taking our proof of funds and all other necessary paperwork.

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Sorry don't know the answer to the question you asked. You probably know the rule that you need to be in Canada 2 out of 5 years. If you leave it to 3 years and return, you wont be able to leave Canada for the proceeding 2 years in order to maintain your PR.

Yes you do need to supply those documents.

You can only state what you currently own. Anything else would not be correct. Just state what you currently own in your goods to follow list and what you have with you in the goods accompanying list - I always thought it was simple.

What you have in 3 years time is irrelevant, what you own at the time of landing is.

We've just got back from our trip. We weren't asked for any proof of funds, but you will need to provide a list of goods accompanying and goods to follow.

We'll be moving out there within the next couple of years and so we put on our list what we already know we'll take with us, but also a few bits we might well purchase/inherit. You can't add things later I believe. So for example I put on it a cotbed as our baby will be out of the cot by the time we're ready to go. I'm not saying this is the right thing to do - it just made sense to us.

The help in the wiki section was great and we also found the whole thing straightforward.

Hope this helps and have a lovely time
