Default Is it possible?

Is it possible for a person with political asylum pending in the US to apply for a Canadian PR (skilled worker)? If the asylum is granted, can he till move to Canada as a PR?

What about applying for a student visa?

Thanks

1. Only if they were ADMITTED for 1 year can they apply to Buffalo, otherwise their country of residence.
2. The chances for a student visa would be somewhere between nil and none, with a pending asylum claim, CHC would think that there is very little chance that you would leave at the end of your authorized stay.

Thanks PMM.

The person was admitted into the US with a student visa (actual visa was for 1 year, but has an I-94 with D/S--duration of status/study on it) few years ago. He still maintains his student visa and has left 5 months until his current I-20 expires.

Can he still apply in Buffalo for Canadian PR?

Andrew Miller, PMM, or anybody who knows it,

Would you please let me know if a person with pending political asylum in the US, a student visa with an I-20 expiring in 5 months, and an I-94 with D/S on it can apply for Canadian PR (skilled worker) in Buffalo?

Thanks
