police clearance
Hi,
I have got my police clearance in China around 1998 just before I
come to USA. I didn't go back during this 5 years. So Can I use this
police clearance in Buffalo office? Is there anybody who has the
similar experience succesfully pass in the Buffalo office without
being asked for new police clearance? Any advice is welcome.
THANKS A LOT.

I'm afraid your police clearance has already expired.

Re: police clearance
Hi Lin,
you may try to send that police clearance. In my case, I'm a foreign worker
in Taiwan from 1995 to 1998 then applied for a police clearance after the
end of my contract and never came back since then. I applied as
inland-spouse here in Canada last year (June) and I include the old police
clearance in Taiwan. Now i'm a PR last Jan 22 '03 so it seems that my old
police clearance was accepted.
hope this helps...
Cheers,
Bianca

As a general rule, you should expect to require a new police clearance
if the existing document is more than one year old. Visa officers can
make exceptions depending on the circumstances, however.
